Carnevale ~

also known as Carnival or Mardi Gras, is celebrated in Italy, Spain & many other places around the world 40 days before Easter, a final party before Ash Wednesday and the restrictions of Lent. The 2009 date for carnevale is February 24 but celebrations in Venice and many parts of Italy, Europe, and South America will run from February 14

(or even earlier) through February 24, 2009. One of the largest Mardi Gras celebrations is held in New Orleans, Louisiana, ending on Fat Tuesday, Pancake Day , or Shrove Tuesday, when the tradition is that everyone gorges on pancakes, and doughnuts the day before Ash Wednesday, or the start of Lent (about 6 weeks of fasting, penitence, and self-denial in preparation for Easter). So....................

since all of this is happening on Mandi's Birthday this year.......
