A DAY TO HONOR DAD!

I've been thinking alot lately about Dads. Not just because Father's Day is approaching, but because Roger's Dad is not doing well, and we have been looking at old pictures together, and reflecting on good times. My Dad is also turning 80 this week, and my brothers and I have been going through boxes, and boxes full of old pictures. We are going to make a DVD, to honor his life. There are so many old pictures that we are seeing for the first time in our lives!! Pictures of our Mother and Dad when they were first married, and pictures of me and my 3 brothers, while we were just little people! It's amazing the feelings it is stirring up. I don't know if these are memories that have been buried for so long, or if seeing these pictures is helping to fill some of those empty holes that we have all had in our lives for so long. It has been good for us, and we are all touched by these pictures, for sure. It's going to be hard to narrow it down to the few that will fit on the DVD. I'm sure my brothers and I could sit for 4 - 5 hours and watch it, but can you imagine how boring that would be to everyone else!!
Anyway - back to Fathers.....................
both Roger and I have had the best.
We love them, and honor them. And it is good to see our families follow in their footsteps. I thought I'd post just a few "Dad" pictures, in their honor!

I’ve been watching you dad
ain’t that cool
I’m your bucka-roo
I wanna be like you
eat all my food
and grow as tall you are.
I’ll be strong as you
and superman,
we’ll be just alike,
hey won’t we dad.
I’m gonna do
everything
you do......
so I’ve been
watching you

There is not much that is more rewarding than seeing your children become great parents. As I watch these beautiful women, with their awesome children, I am overwhelmed with pride and happiness! They are raising righteous children and doing it with love. Thanks for the greatest gift, this Mother's Day. There is no bigger honor.

A great story !!!!

A man walks into a restaurant with a full-grown ostrich behind him. The waitress asks them for their orders. The man says, 'A hamburger, fries and a coke,' and turns to the ostrich, 'What's yours?' 'I'll have the same,' says the ostrich. A short time later the waitress returns with the order 'That will be $9.40 please,' and the man reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change for payment. The next day, the man and the ostrich come again and the man says, 'A hamburger, fries and a coke.' The ostrich says, 'I'll have the same.' Again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change. This becomes routine until the two enter again. 'The usual?' asks the waitress. 'No, this is Friday night, so I will have a steak, baked potato and a salad,' says the man. 'Same,' says the ostrich. Shortly the waitress brings the order and says, 'That will be $32.62.' Once again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table. The waitress cannot hold back her curiosity any longer. 'Excuse me, sir. How do you manage to always come up with the exact change in your pocket every time?' 'Well,' says the man, 'several years ago I was cleaning the attic and found an old lamp. When I rubbed it, a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes. My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there.' 'That's brilliant!' says the waitress. 'Most people would ask for a million dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you want for as long as you live!' 'That's right. Whether it's a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there,' says the man. The waitress asks, 'What's with the ostrich?' The man sighs, pauses and answers, 'My second wish was for a tall chick with a big bust and long legs who agrees with everything I say.'

Cinco De Mayo!!

I'm not sure why I love Poppies so much!
They have always been my favorite flower. I love their colors, and their delicacy.
Anyway - I was looking at these pictures, and found one
that meant something to me today. (Below)

So I dedicate these pictures of poppies to
My favorite Sister-In-Law, and Friend!

Today is her Birthday ~ Love you Kris!
