~ GRATITUDE ~

{ picture taken by ~ Mandi Workman }

Send some rain, would You send some rain? 'Cause the earth is dry and needs to drink again, And the sun is high and we are sinking in the shade. Would You send a cloud, thunder long and loud? Let the sky grow black and send some mercy down. Surely You can see that we are thirsty and afraid...But maybe not, not today. Maybe You'll provide in other ways, and if that's the case....We'll give thanks to You with gratitude for lessons learned in how to thirst for You. How to bless the very sun that warms our face, if You never send us rain...Daily bread, give us daily bread, bless our bodies, keep our children fed. Fill our cups, then fill them up again tonight. Wrap us up and warm us through, Tucked away beneath our sturdy roofs. Let us slumber safe from danger's view this time...Or maybe not, not today. Maybe You'll provide in other ways, and if that's the case....We'll give thanks to You with gratitude. A lesson learned to hunger after You. That a starry sky offers a better view if no roof is overhead And if we never taste that bread. Oh, the differences that often are between what we want and what we really need...So grant us peace, Jesus, grant us peace, move our hearts to hear a single beat, between alibis and enemies tonight....Or maybe not, not today. Peace might be another world away, and if that's the case...We'll give thanks to You with gratitude, for lessons learned in how to trust in You. That we are blessed beyond what we could ever dream, in abundance or in need. And if You never grant us peace.......But Jesus, would You please . . . { song by - Nicole Nordeman }

Five for October!

First ~
An evening with "The Rat Pack". My favorite was alway "Dino". Seeing the play re-ignited the secret crush I had on him. I think it's because he reminds me of my Dad; looks and acts alot like him. I had to go home and pull out all my Dean Martin CD's........ahhh...what memories!

"The Line of black advanced on me through the shroud like mist........"

Jaxson wanted to read the "Twilight" series, after hearing about it from his friends. He borrowed my books. After finishing the first 3 books, we took a little trip up to our cabin for the weekend. He kept saying after we left, "I wish I had brought book 4 to read!" He couldn't wait to finish.............so I got him a copy in Jackson. He finished it in a couple of days. I didn't stop to think that what was kind of silly and trivial to me, might be a bit scarey to someone his age. He loved it though..............and wants to see the movie.
What do you think??
"Bella: "Should I be afraid?" Edward: "Terrified."

GO UTES ! ! ! BEAT WYOMING ! !

Even though I will not be at the game, I will be in Wyoming this weekend. I will be yelling my guts out for Utah!!
Sometimes that helps..........like when Brian Johnson hadn't yet decided to just run the ball into the end zone last week, instead of trying to pass. I'm sure he heard me screaming at him then, cause he changed his mind and ran it!! Then my man Sakoda (Hey Louie, Louie!!) won the game for us ! Even if this week's game is not as exciting, it promises to be fun (as long as the WY coach doesn't loose his cool, and flip us off again!)

Happy, Happy Day!!

In honor of this happy day, I have written a poem! Tessa is now legally and lawfully a Bott! (She always was to us, but now it's on paper!) Yipee!!!!

Sure do love you guys!!

The Family Portrait

Once upon a time, long before you ever met.
God planned a special portrait and the canvas, then was set.
He placed it on His easel, and then patiently, He waited.
With loving care, and in His time, He saw what would be painted.

He set aside some colors; He knew just how to use them.
God waited 'til the time was right, and then began to choose them.
A portrait of a family; a child, her mom, a dad.
This painting needed extra care; God used everything He had.

With His palette full of colors, He knew what it would take.
Each stroke was so deliberate; a masterpiece He'd make.
Blending some dark shadows, with subtle hues of light,
The image took it's shape as He used colors that were right.

Bold splashes of love, outlined colors of pain.
Shades of joy and sadness, were mixed throughout the frame.
And even though, because of time, your story's yet untold.
The final picture of your lives, begins now to unfold.

One very special child now knows, her mother and her father.
The love of God seen in His work, shines through with living color.
Your family portrait, almost complete; God framed it with His heart.
And hung it in the Hall of Faith..........a priceless Work of Art.
