This week, 40 years ago, my Grandpa passed away unexpectantly. I was 16 years old, and loved him dearly. He was a great man. His grandfather was born in Vermont, and followed Joseph Smith to Nauvoo. When the prophet was killed, he was devestated, but served as a guide and body guard to Brigham Young as they crossed the United States and came to Salt Lake. I am in awe of my progenitors, and the faith and courage they have had to live what they believe. I miss him very much, but know some day I will again sit at his knee and learn so much more.
