Lovin' life at the little log cabin!
I wish I were a photographer. There are so many beautiful sights and photo opps at our cabin in Star Valley. I love spending time there, and relaxing, and seeing the beauty God has created for us. I try to take pictures, and I just cannot capture the real beauty. And when I do remember to take pictures, I usually mess them up or delete them while trying to download them. The first day we were there this weekend, I got some great shots of Sonia, Jaxson an Sarah helping Roger and I work on the cabin. Sarah helped water all the trees that we are trying to keep alive. The pine trees are very small right now, so I had the great idea to take Sarah's picture next to them so we can see how much they grow in a year or two. I made her pose by a few of the trees, but alas!! I thought I had them saved to my computer, then I erased them off of my camera. Now I can't find them anywhere on my computer. I am so mad at myself. I had some great shots of Dad on the Chimney top painting, Sonia on the tall ladder, and Jaxson and I painting below, (and each other)! Gone!! OK, so I'm still trying to get over that........ but now, I ran out of battery power while up at Cottonwood Lake! I had only a few shots, and couldn't take any more. Battery out!! This was the first time we drove around to the other side too, and I couldn't get shots. The road was really a mess. It had been washed out in quite a few places this spring when the run off flooded everything. It's soooo beautiful up there though. No one else was up there the day we drove up. It was so beautiful, and peaceful. We sat in the stream and watched the fish come out of the shadows to catch bugs. I wish we had a small boat to take out on the lake. That would be so fun. Maybe next time. Oh well, here are a few shots I got..........
I did get a few shots while we were in Jackson Sunday for the Chuckwagon dinner and show.
We had a great time. Enjoyed the food, music and comedy!! Late night getting home to the cabin, so everyone slept well. I really enjoyed having my family there, and hope next time a few more of them can come. This is what I hope is the start of my Brothers and Sisters Weekend every year. It will probably be my Dad's last trip however. Loved having him there.
